Make Money Online by Building Momentum

The past month has been a very successful one for my online business in terms of traffic going up, number of new affiliates going up, and money in my pocket getting heavier. This really inspires me because after admitting to being lazy about my business over the hot summer months, I am just slowly starting to get back into the swing of things. I am just slowly starting to return to my daily to-do list after having made it more manageable and motivating for me to complete on a daily basis. I am not fully back where I should be in terms of work I need to be doing, and yet, it was my most profitable month ever. I have to say this really motivates me to work even harder, and be more consistent if I really want to make money online. I've realized that you can do this too by building your business momentum.

Many people who want to make money online start a new program with the hope that they will make millions overnight. This just isn't realistic no matter what some online business owners may tell you. I've seen the effects that building momentum can have on your business. I've been through some ups and downs and everyone will experience these. But if you give up on your online business even before a year has passed, you don't even have the chance to get the momentum going, or see that next upward swing in your results, and it will come if you put the time and effort in!

Let me explain by example what I mean by building momentum so that you can make money onlineThere are four ways I have done this, which are: Forum posting; Article writing; Blog posting; and Link generating.

Forum posting means that you join some discussion forums on business related topics, or topics related to whatever your website is about. It's free to join these forums, and a great way to get yourself into a community of other people who are doing exactly what you are doing. You can share ideas, ask questions, look for information, help others, make new friends, and find out what all the top dogs are up to. At first you may think this is not at all really vital to your business and a waste of time. Well, think again! I have made sales simply from offering helpful advice in forums after someone followed my signature link to my site.

A friend of mine who frequents a fishing forum told me that people won't even pay attention to you unless you have made over 500 posts. I thought he was full of it, until I had 500 posts, advanced in my status, and then had 1000+ posts. Believe me, people will pay attention to your posts the more you have because they can see that you have been around for a while and must know what you're talking about. This isn't to say you should go and spam the forums. That is a no-no! Make useful contributions to the forums and offer something of value on a consistent basis, and you will be building momentum for your business through forum posting.

Article writing is the next way I have built momentum for my business. Again, this is something you don't do overnight not if you write your own original articles like I do. This is one of the best ways to advertise your business these days. Provide an article with useful information, and submit it to an article distribution service that will distribute your article to thousands of publishers with your online business links at the end in the author bio-box. You'll be amazed at how fast your links get dispersed around the net One-way links pointing back to your site! I have also found that the more articles you write, the more of an authority you become in your niche. The more articles you have to your name, the more people will realize that you have something valuable to offer, you can be trusted, and your readers may decide you're worth buying from.

Similar to article writing is blog posting. The more frequent your posts, the more traffic you will get to your site. I recently found a tool on the net that allows you to type in your blog address to get a monetary value of what your blog is worth. Now I have posted my own articles, as well as other people's articles to my blog, and have added special news and reports in addition to that. According to the value I got for my blog, I need to beef up my blog even more! Obviously this takes time, and that is my point when I refer to "building momentum". If you quit early on, you will never have the chance to make your online business work for you or make money online.

Finally, link generating is another means I have used to build momentum for my business. The search engines don't even like it if you gather links too quickly because they see it as a deliberate attempt to get a link back to your site. It is recommended that you gather links slowly, maybe 10-15 new links per week, and you want thousands of links pointing back to your site! This, too, will take time, and over time, you will see your link popularity grow if you continue to gather links by writing articles, posting your URL to the link directories, linking to the internal pages on your own site, commenting on blogs, posting in forums, and so on.

Building momentum means taking the time, and making the consistent effort to build your business. It means not giving up pre-maturely, thinking nothing is working for you, and that you are not making any money online. If you take consistent action over time by posting in forums, writing original articles, making frequent posts to your blog, and getting as many quality links pointing back to your site, then have what it takes to make money online!

Chocolate Chip Cookies & What They Are Telling Us

Ok, so admittedly, I am sitting here taking a little breather and eating my 4th, or is it 10th (?) chocolate chip cookie of the day. Its not quite as enjoyable as the first, but I know I will eat it anyway. Oh, you ask, Why is it not as good as the first? Well, it is because this one cant be rationalized away this one is just plain over-the-top, filled with guilt, packed with pain and too much of a good thing.

Well, now that we are all clear on my addiction of choice. Lets look at what the cookies are dying for me to know, and what your indulgences want you to know as well.

We all have our little indulgences in the work place, which take us away from our work for a moment and allow us to mentally take a break. Whether it is the extra 10 minutes we spend chatting with a co-worker about her love life, the couple of extra personal calls we make each day, the extra hour we take for lunch, or maybe its just gossiping about how Mary is taking an extra hour for her lunch. Any one of these little breathers alone, like that first chocolate chip cookie, can be rationalized away and can even be a little bit of a good thing. They are indulgences that make us feel better in the moment.

We all know that it is ok to indulge once in a while, or what the heck, once a day everyone needs a little breather to pick ourselves up. It is when we have hit our 10th indulgence of the day that we have to take a more serious look at why it is we are driven to indulge.

If we are over indulging in one thing, then we can be sure we are disengaging from something else. Indulgence is the symptom, not the problem. The real problem is that we are disengaging from our work and there is a reason we have made the choice to disengage. It is a choice that many more people are making and when professionals disengage from their work we all pay the price. Disengaged workers miss 3.5 more days of work per year than average employees. In addition, a study by Robert Hall International shows that two months of the average workers year is wasted time, costing business a total of $1.5 billion in lost time.

There are many reasons why we disengage; my reason du jour is creative avoidance. If Im eating a cookie, I dont have to write an article. However, more and more frequently we are seeing that workers disengage because they have lost their passion for their work, or worse yet they never felt the passion to begin with.

Passion is lost when we are not working in our gifts and strengths. If you were created to be a teacher and share your love of learning with the world, no matter how hard you try you will never feel passion when you are selling office equipment. Conversely, the born sales person will never feel their passion teaching history to the next generation.

The problem is that even after we have heard what the chocolate chip cookies are trying to tell us, many of us remain stuck in the cycle of indulgence. Yes, you heard your 10th cookie telling you that you dont want to sell any more copiers, but you ignore that little voice because you dont know how to put away the cookies and find your true passion.

Well, that is one of the purposes of career coaching. Career coaches act as guides on a journey of greater self-awareness and clarity. Coaches help you to find your true passion, and then help you to create an action plan to get from where you are to where you want to be in your career and in your life. Once you are working in your strengths you will find you are fully engaged in your work, loving what you do each day, and you havent eaten your 10th chocolate chip cookie in weeks.

Making Money from Websites, Jobs, Online

Making Money online using your PC which is connected to the Internet at home by building a Website has never been easier. When you build a Website that has enough visitors, say 1000 visitors per day, you can make decent money from Affiliate programs and advertising agencies who advertise for their clients and look for publishers, ie Websites on the Internet.

Affiliate Programs (or Associates as some programs call them) make money by referring their site's visitors to the Affiliate program Website (e.g. amzon.com). Your site will be provided with a special ID and whenever a visitor of you site clicks on the affiliate ad, that ID is passed to the Affiliate program manager. Now, how you get paid differs from Affiliate to another.

Some Affiliates pay you when your visitors buy products from their sites, others, pay you for clicking on ads shown at your site.

This site will help you build your online business by showing you how and where to start this new invention in your life. We recommend assessing your own capabilities of building a Website, investigate buying one if your skills or more with marketing rather than technical.

Work At Home Moms Should Consider Affiliate Programs

In my many years in the work at home industry, I have come across many work at home ideas, programs and opportunities both online and offline. However, it is affiliate programs that always get my vote for a number of reasons and I think that any mom looking to do some sort of work at home venture should seriously consider them.

As a simple explanation, affiliate marketing is a process whereby a person promotes the goods or services of a merchant by driving traffic of interested users to that merchant's website. The person that does these activities is called an affiliate' and the company/website that receives these services is referred to as the merchant'. Affiliates are either paid commission on a pay-per-click, pay-per-lead or pay-per-sale basis. The bulk of the affiliate's duties would be in marketing and advertising.

Affiliate programs have numerous advantages for anyone especially for moms wanting to do something from home in between taking care of the little darlings and keeping house. These are:

International Customers

As the internet is an international instrument, your potential customers will be from almost every country in the world. This is a huge market for you to tap into. Because more and more people are coming online everyday, your market is virtually unlimited.

All The Hard Work Has Been Done For You

The merchant has sourced, manufactured or made the product at his risk and expense. He has already tested the product and his sales pitch to sell his product. If he has been offering this product for quite some time now through the sales pitch on his website, you can be assured that the product is selling.

A Real Work At Home Opportunity

One of the greatest appeal of affiliate marketing is that it allows you to make money while based at home. It is such a flexible opportunity that even if you have a full-time job, you can still run this on the side. Most of the time, it takes an hour a day to administer, check, review, revise, etc - and all online.

No Stock To Carry, No Shipping, No Customer Headaches

Another cool thing about being an affiliate is that you don't have to worry about customer enquiries or customer complaints. You don't need to buy or keep stock, you don't have to ship anything to the customer - in fact you don't deal with the customer at all. The merchant does this. You just promote the website and it's products and get paid a commission on sale.

Easy To Start Up

You can literally become an affiliate in a few minutes. There are no lengthy applications to make or approval process to undergo. No other money-making opportunity can be started as quick as an affiliate program.

Unlimited Income Potential

The sky is the limit as far as your earnings go. You can make as much money as you want to. The only restrictions are your own effort.

Truly International Opportunity

Affiliate marketing is one of the very few opportunities that are not confined to a specific country. Anyone from anywhere in the world can participate in an affiliate program.

Affiliate Programs Are Free To Sign-Up

Almost all affiliate programs are free to sign up. You don't need to pay for starter-packs, advertising materials, sample products, membership fees, etc.

Huge Commissions

Commissions that are paid by merchants are huge and beat any other industry hands down. Commissions on offer can go up to as high as 75-80% of selling price.

Choose A Multitude Of Merchants To Work For

Affiliate marketing is flexible enough to allow you to represent many merchants at the same time. This increases your chances of success as you have an arsenal of products to promote. If you choose your products properly, you can be promoting a great deal of top selling items simultaneously.

Low Start Up Costs

Your only start up costs will be in advertising and promotion. This activity will represent the majority of your input in your business. There are a number of ways to minimize this cost but you'll have to do some research and test your methods.

However, as with any other opportunity, thoroughly research an affiliate program before actually participating in it. Here are some tips to help you:

1. Only choose top quality products that are in constant demand.

2. Only deal with reputable companies who have been in business for a reasonable period of time.

3. Monitor other affiliates to see what they are promoting. Check to see where they advertise and how long their adverts are up if an affiliate is continuously doing paid advertising in a certain place, then you can be assured that he/she is making money.

4. Email the companies concerned and ask questions about the product. Monitor how long they take to respond and how effective their response is. This will give you an idea on how solid they are and what sort of confidence they have in their product.

Affiliate programs are a great opportunity but only if done correctly. It is imperative that you do a certain amount of research and testing before you commit yourself, especially if you are going to be investing money in advertising. Good luck!

Associate Marketing: Is It the Simplest Means To Make Money Online?

Affiliate marketing has been around long before the internet, but it has become so much more popular as a way to make money since then. Let's take a quick look at what it is and what it is exactly that makes it so special, shall we?

Affiliate marketing is not about writing your own product and trying to find people to buy it. Affiliate marketing is about recommending someone else's product or products and making a percentage from that sale. It's basically piggybacking on the efforts of other peoples work, which is ok, because they want you to!

These marketers who have their own products will be very eager for you to recommend their products. If they know what they are doing then you are their best friend! And you can easily have a great, profitable business relationship with these other marketers; they create the products and you sell them!

This is really great for both the affiliate and the creator of the product. The average affiliate marketer just wants to make some extra money. They do not bother with creating products or services or even handling other tasks that come along with being a product creator or owner, like customer service, updates, upgrades, etc. Great affiliates are really good at figuring out what people want to buy and then directing those people to the product. This is one of the many wonderful advantages to being an affiliate marketer: It is not your job to sell the item. It is your job to simply pre-sell the item. Let the items sell themselves.

Affiliate marketing can be even more lucrative for the affiliate marketer by offering buyers incentives for buying through your affiliate link. What kind of special offers? Well, the smartest affiliates are affiliates that have actually tried the product or service they are promoting. When the affiliate has actually tried the product, they can create better offers based on what they know of the product! The affiliate marketer that does this can provide additional reports or even videos that explain the advantages or secrets of what the buyer can do with the product or service! If you are an affiliate marketer selling a software application, then you can tell your visitors that they will receive a video from you showing the best ways to make use of the software program.

Back to the original question: Is affiliate marketing the easiest path to make good money online? Without a doubt, yes, it is. Once you take into consideration the fact that you do not have to make a product and all that you have to do is promote products to people that are already looking for products you are promoting, taking candy from a baby could not be easier.

Requirements Of A Vocational Training Center

Once the basic formal education is over the moment of concern arrives. The confusion about choice of vocation causes a lot of tension in the minds of parents and the youth. Those who have clear goals of academic achievement and the means to realize it would go ahead and continue with their higher education in the formal line. Those who want to make a career in time and begin to earn well in time would choose a career oriented vocational training.

There are various economic groups that would choose to be trained in a skill that would give them sustained income and some amount of economic security like the middle class people, disabled, socially disadvantaged and those with high edge technical aptitude who wants to excel in that. A Vocational training center provides opportunities for these sections of people. A vast majority of educated youth choose to earn early and settle in life at the earliest.

Requirements of a vocational training center:

A vocational training centre should, first and foremost, should have a clear vision about the target group. A clear statistical knowledge of the candidates it targets, their economic background, their requirements, the average educational qualification of the local demography are some of the things to be known about the potential trainees. Secondly, the management should brainstorm and implement those trainings that are most taken by students.

The courses provided should be well integrated. Theory should complement the practical training and not the other way around. For vocational training the curricula should be for its most part filled with practical exercises, assignments and project works. The theory part should be just to fill the comprehension gaps. Besides providing training in house, the students must be given exposure in companies and industries. Placement services can be integral to a vocational training centre.

Infrastructure for Vocational Training Centre:

The center must provide the proper infrastructure for the students. The building design must suit the course requiems. A vocational training centre would dedicate more space for the laboratory and work room with proper equipments. Students residence and staff residence requirements must be met if the center provides training for resident students. Space for games, entertainment and recreation must be taken care of.

Helping Our Children To Stop Enduring Now!

We pour our hopes and dreams into our children from the moment they are born. We want them to fare better in life and grow up more secure and presumably happier than . . . than what? Than we are. But despite our best intentions, todays children are fast becoming a generation of endurers raised by a generation of endurers. And everyone pays a steep price. Parents run the risk of passing their ever-striving-never-stopping tendencies on to the next generation. Call them Generation Ea whole generation of kids for whom enduring seems, if not natural, at least normal.

For many parents afraid for their childrens future, childhood has become a race to the finish line, the brass ring being college and a good career. Isnt it ironic that, in pursuit of our childrens success, we sacrifice ourselves and them by driving them so hard? If the road were on together is plagued with stress, resentment, and fatigue, then perhaps it is a vicious circle and not a road at all.

As parents who truly have our childrens best interests at heart, we need to take a different approach. We can help our children stop enduring by practicing a new mantra: Enough is enough!

Dont over schedule. Offering children the very best doesnt mean keeping them busy every moment, even with what we believe are enriching pastimes and enterprises. Nowadays, 12-year-old children are using the term burnout, and the sad part is, they mean it! Cut back on the extracurricular activities. Let your childs moods, energy level, learning style, personality, and interests dictate how many activities they pursue. Then put your own energy level and needs into the equation.

Its okay, even good, if kids get bored. Boredom is beneficial, if not imperative, to the growth, creativity, and confidence of children. When children have moments to dream up new ways to entertain themselves and each other, their imaginations are developed in ways a controlled learning environment cant compete with.

Teach your kids the difference between endurance and perseverance. True perseverance involves the spirit. When we persevere toward a goal, we are listening to that still small voice within. We are inspired, not drained; empowered, not victimized. When we are enduring, however, we hear only our fears. Our spirit is drowned out by this fear-driven voice that warns us to remain hyper vigilant, ultimately leading us to exhaustionvictims of our To Do lists, the demands of our jobs, and our failing mental and physical health. We exude fear and dread, not enthusiasm. Stuck in a rut, lost in fear, how can we expect to be able to help our kids discover their path?

Begin to discern this important distinction for yourself and you will be able to help your children persevere rather than endure. Children mimic what they see parents doing. So the most important way to stop their endurance in its tracks is to get out of the endurance cycle yourself. Do you feel you never have time to stop? Do you resent never having the time to do things your spirit longs for? Do you look forward to an imagined future time when you will feel happier/ more energetic/debt free? Do you feel resigned and unappreciated as a parent, in spite of all you do? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are enduring. Something needs to changethe sooner, the better.

If you are enduring . . . Its time to stop now. The primary source of endurance is fear. Are you worried about your childrens future so much that you cant imagine taking a risk in your job or career, even for your own well being? Are you convinced that your child will not get into a good college if you dont continue to sacrifice both your energy and your financial resources? Try not to let fear rule your life or theirs. Take a risk to live a more inspired life yourself so that this, and not powerlessness, is your legacy to your children. Live a life that is admirable by your own standards and your children will both notice your courage and want to emulate it.

When they disappoint you, give time ins, not time outs. Next time your child doesnt meet your expectations or misbehaves, dont ground them or call a time out; provide a time in. Let them talk to you and you will learn more than you would have by closing the door on your communication. If we want our children to be honest with us, we have to make it safe for them to share with us. If we want them to take responsibility for their actions and their lives, what better way than to ask them to reflect on their behaviors and decide what appropriate steps they need to take next?

Remember what is most important. Some of our worries about success and failure reflect our own need to prove ourselves worthy in our own and others eyes. But we want our children to know that they are inherently worthy, not for what they do, but for who they are. Remind them that they are so much more than the sum total of their successes and failures. And if you need to, remind yourself similarly.

Let your motivation to help your children come from your own spirits journey. Let yourself be a gauge of what feels inspiring and enriching. Ignore the fear-based need to charge ahead to the point of exhaustion. By learning to say Enough is enough!, together parents and children may just find life filled with more love, joy, and peace. We owe it to our children and to ourselves to shift our focus from fear for their success to just letting them blossom into the extraordinary beings their spirits already yearn for them to become.

A Surefire Web Business for You

If you really want to start a Web-based business, but really don't know where to start, then listen up. If you have no product of your own, the best thing that you can do is investigate affiliate programs.

What is an affiliate program? It's basically a commission-only sales arrangement. Someone with a product or service will offer to let you sell it for them in exchange for a cut of the selling price. Typically with a hard product you'll be lucky to get 10% commission on sales. The good news is that downloadable products such as ebooks and software will often pay you 50% of the sales price as an affiliate - you can even find deals where you get 75%.

If you're just starting out you are certainly advised to begin your affiliate selling career by selling downloadable products because they are the ideal in our 'instant gratification' society. Your customers don't have to wait around after paying their money they can immediately download their purchase over the Internet. If you go to www.clickbank.com, you'll find they have several thousand different downloadable products you can sell as an affiliate, and the majority offer you at least 50% commission. Signing up is a simple one-time process and you'll then be able to use your Clickbank ID to sell any of the products in their online catalogue.

You can browse the Clickbank catalogue by subject area to find something that interests you. In any given subject area you will usually find that there are several related products that you could sell from a tightly-focused Website where you could set up pages to pre-sell the products you have selected and then place a link that your customers can click on which will take them to the affiliate site to place their order - and if they do that, you get your commission.

One of the best types of site you can build using the above ideas is a review site. Set up some simple pages on your Website comparing and contrasting the features of several related products that you've picked out to sell. All you really need to do is go along to the vendors Website which will basically be a sales page for their product. Here they'll list the features and benefits of their product. You can adapt this information to highlight the similarities and differences between two or more of the products to help your customers to choose which product would be the most suitable for their own particular circumstances.

What is the easiest type of Website you can set up to achieve the above? You've probably heard the buzz by now surrounding blogs and blogging. One of the main reasons blogs are recommended for setting up tightly-focused niche topic Websites is that they are usually easier to get traffic to from a standing start than conventional Websites.

Another good reason for choosing a blog as your site-builder of choice is that they are comparatively easy to set up if you're a Website building novice. Once you've carried out some pretty basic setting up, the software behind the blog handles most of the major house-keeping chores, like making sure all of your pages are properly linked together. All you have to do is to keep adding on-topic content regularly.

Two good choices if you want to experiment with blogs for your niche affiliate review sites following the above model are WordPress and Blogger. WordPress is free open source software that resides on your own Web server - so you'll need some hosting of your own if you want to go this route. This is certainly the preferred way to go because if you've got your own domain name and hosting you'll present a more professional image to your customers. You will also have more control over the look and feel of your site.

If you are a complete novice and you just want to test the waters to see if this niche marketing with affiliate sites thing is for you, then the cheapest (free) way to get involved is to go to www.blogger.com, sign up for a free account and make use of the free Blogspot hosting.

Whichever blogging route you choose, once you have your blog set up, just put your review articles on it comparing and contrasting the affiliate products you've chosen, as detailed above. To bulk out the content on your blog, just look around the Net for news items and information on the subject area you've chosen and write some articles based around these.

Once you have one blog set up with a decent amount of content on it, just rinse and repeat. Find some more subject areas that interest you and put more blogs together on these subjects, based around more good affiliate products that you can promote.

There are people out there right now who are making very good money using nothing more than these, and similar, ideas. How will you know whether you could join them if you don't give it a try?

Minneapolis Schools Struggle With Diversity

Minneapolis Schools, like most school districts, struggles with diversity. They struggle with making sure their schools are not segregated based on color or economic status. That is difficult when people of like economic status tend to live in certain areas.

One of the ways Minneapolis Schools achieves this is through parent choice. Parents in Minneapolis Schools are given options such as private school vouchers, charter schools, and opting to send their children outside of their neighborhood. Although this program has done a good job of helping to desegregate schools, there are some areas in the Minneapolis Schools where this has had the opposite affect.

There are some Minneapolis Schools where white students are transferring out of schools where they are already the minority, and students of color are transferring into these schools. One of the obstacles to this program is that there simply are not enough white students enrolled in the Minneapolis Schools to balance the numbers. Another obstacle is that students struggling to transfer into these schools are overwhelming the building capacity of the more desirable schools.

The Minneapolis Schools have looked at various options to aid parent choice. But some things, like providing transportation for students who choose not to attend their neighborhood schools, is almost impossible to fit into an already stretched budget.

Minneapolis Schools labels schools as racially identifiable if they are not adequately desegregated. These schools receive funding to attract students into their buildings- but this doesnt always work.

Upper income white parents hesitate to send their children into lower income neighborhoods, even when the education itself is comparable. There is some rational basis to this as studies have shown that students can be pulled wither up or down by their academic surroundings. So bringing better-educated families into these poorer areas is likely to benefit the lower income families, but there is fear that it will negatively impact the students from the upper income families.

Minneapolis Schools have made a commitment to work this issue out through other programs such as changing school boundaries. The Minneapolis Schools draw the boundaries so that they include neighborhoods at both ends of the spectrum to attempt to achieve the racial equity it desires. One of the reasons for this commitment that Minneapolis Schools have to solving this dilemma is the overwhelming proof that children who are racially and economically segregated have lower overall performance than those from racially and economically diverse schools. That is the main reason for their push to achieve this balance. Make Money Making Movies...

We are not going to kid you. Making money making movies is hard work and it doesn't come easy. This is the real deal: if you want to make a living from movies if not to be rich, you have to think business. Think about what the audience wants to see. It is NOT about what you want. This website provides a bunch of helpful articles to help you on your way of becoming a successful moviemaker.

Most feature films are produced either by the major Hollywood studios or by hundreds of U.S. and foreign independent production companies. The independents range from major companies just below the rank of the well-financed, all-purpose studios, to medium and small continuing companies, to firms that go bankrupt after just one production.

Since the introduction of DV technology, the means of production have become more independent; called independent filmmaking. Filmmakers can conceivably shoot and edit a movie, create and edit the sound and music, and mix the final cut on a home computer. However, while the means of production may be independent, financing, distribution, and marketing remain difficult to accomplish outside the traditional system.

Most independent filmmakers rely on film festivals to get their films noticed and sold for distribution. However, the Internet has allowed for relatively inexpensive distribution of independent films; many filmmakers post their films online for critique and recognition. Although there is little profitability in this, a filmmaker can still gain exposure via the web.

The filmmaking production cycle consists of five main stages: 1-Development, 2- Preproduction, 3-Production, 4-Post-production, 5-Distribution.

Technologies such as DVD, FireWire connections and professional-level non-linear editing system software make movie making relatively inexpensive.

Popular software (including commercial, consumer level and open source) includes: Avid Xpress Pro, Cinelerra, Kino, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express, iMovie, Sony Vegas,

Popular digital camcorders, mostly semi-professional equipment with 3-CCD technology, include: Canon, GL2 XL-1s, XL-2, Panasonic AG-DVX100/AG-DVX100A/AG-DVX100B , Panasonic AG-HVX200, Sony VX-1000/2000/2100, Sony PD-150/170. Most of these camcorders cost between US$2,000 - $5,000 in 2003, with costs continuing to decline as features are added, and models depreciate.

Additionally, open source software holds the potential for increasing high-level editing capabilities being available for also increasingly lower prices, both free and paid software. I would recommend to take a look at this website http://www.internetvideomag.com/index.htm.

Leadership and Scrotes

If there was one thing Roscoe Rules wished, after having seen all of the world he cared to see, it was that there was a word as dirty as nigger to apply to all mankind. Since he had little imagination he had to settle for asshole. But he realized that all Los Angeles policemen and most American policemen used that as the best of all possible words.

Calvin Potts, the only black choirboy, agreed wholeheartedly with Roscoe when he drunkenly expressed his dilemma one night at choir practice in the park.

Thats the only thing I like about you, Roscoe, Calvin said. You dont just hate the brothers. You hate everyone. Even more than I do. Without prejudice or bias.

Gimme a word then, Roscoe said. He was reeling and vomitous, looking over his shoulder for Harold Bloomguard who at 150 pounds would fight anyone who was cruel to the MacArthur Park ducks.

Gimme a word Roscoe repeated and furtively chucked a large jagged rock at a fuzzy duckling who swam to close, just missing the baby who went squawking to its mother.

Everyone went through the ordinary police repertoire for Roscoe Rules.

How about fartsuckers?

Not rotten enough.

Slimeballs?

Thats getting old.

Scumbags

Naw.

Cumbuckets?

Too long.

Hemorrhoids?

Everybody uses that.

Scrotums?

Not bad, just too long.

Scrotes, then, said Willie Wright who was now drunk enough to use unwholesome language.

Thats it! Roscoe Rules shouted. Scrotes! Thats what all people are; ignorant filthy disgusting ugly worthless Scrotes. I like that! Scrotes! (Wambaugh 1975)

Fortunately, the Roscoe Rules of the policing profession, arguably, never make it to management positions. But let us not forget that in many police departments Roscoe Rules do exist and exert a certain leadership upon other officers. As managers, how do we manage an employee that can be so destructive to the organization? What do we do with the Roscoe Rules in our profession?

Officer Roscoe Rules, in all probability, would not have been allowed to enter into the policing profession with a predisposition for such hatred of everyone. The selection processes utilized today in modern, professional, police organizations would have caught these unacceptable characteristics. So, if we dont hire them, then where do Roscoe Rules come from? The very profession we are trying to eliminate them from creates them. They are the victims of the policing profession and the disease is cynicism.

The Roscoe Rules of the policing profession are the byproduct of human frailties, natural forces, and the extreme demands of this profession that mold many of our good officers into hateful, unproductive problem employees. They often times enter into the policing profession with the best of intentions. I know it sounds corny as hell, but I really thought I could help people. I wanted to do some good in the world, you know? Thats what every cop answers when asked why he became a police officer. Hell probably say it with laughter or a touch of bitterness. That doesnt mean it isnt true. Hes just isnt a rookie any longer (Baker 1985). As we grow from the rookie stage to a seasoned veteran the disease of cynicism has already started to grow. As leaders in our organizations, we all too often look at the telltale symptoms such as attitude and lack of productivity as just another problem employee who is disillusioned. We focus on the multitude of symptoms and cha!

racterize these employees as just another problem rather than understanding the disease itself, which if left unchecked will continue to breed officers like Roscoe Rules.

Roscoe Rules, to some degree, are in and influencing the policing profession. As leaders, how do we manage them? Are they salvageable employees? Have they themselves become Scrotes? To answer these questions we must first have some understanding of the multiple factors that mold them into Roscoe Rules and then determine what options are available to us as leaders.

Cynicism is an attitude of contemptuous distrust of human nature and motives (Behrend 1980). A cynic expects nothing but the worst in human behavior. In short, cynicism is the antithesis of idealism, truth, and justicethe very virtues that law enforcement officers swear to uphold (Graves 1996). The cause of cynicism is attributed to numerous factors. For the police officer, the most significant factors are overexposure, burnout and overinvestment. When an individual is repeatedly exposed to the worst in people, desensitization, to varying degrees, occurs. This not something that can occur; it always occurs. Becoming desensitized, separating oneself from what could be repulsive to the ability to cope, is a survival mechanism. How much child abuse can we endure? How much domestic violence are we expected to intervene in? How much disrespect can we absorb and remain professional? How much injury and death can we be exposed to? Is it any wonder that police offi!

cers loose a certain amount of their sensitivity? Like virginity, you can never get it back.

The demands of the policing profession, when excessive, can often lead to stress related problems and burnout for police officers. Burnout and stress are factors deeply intertwined with cynicism and can have a very detrimental impact on the psychological wellbeing of an officer. The term burnout conjures up images of a sputtering wick, blackened, slowly sliding into the melting wax of a dying candle. It calls up the image of a cheerless, depleted, charred structure in need of demolition-a blot on the organizational landscape. When applied to a career police officer it more often is an excuse, a cop-out, a nonspecific, subjectively determined description of one who has become unresponsive and irresponsible. (Robinette 1987) When officers burnout it is very difficult to reorient them to mainstream policing. The profession to them just becomes a job, not a career. They just want to make it through their tour of duty. They loose sight of the vision and mission of the !

organization. They just dont care.

A young trooper had just recovered his first occupied stolen auto. One officer commented, The blue flame is lit, and laughter followed. he explained that the young mans excitement was like a torch being lit; and the blue flame was the symbol of a law enforcement officer who wanted to make a difference in the world (Kaighin 1999) The eternal flame at the grave of President Kennedy is not self-sustaining. It requires fuel and maintenance. So does the blue flame for a young police officer. Once the wick has gone out and receded deep into the wax its almost impossible to light again. This holds true for an officer who has become so cynical that he/she becomes another Roscoe Rules. I guess what our job really boils down to is not letting the assholes take over the city. Now Im not talking about your regular crooks theyre bound to wind up in the joint anyway. What Im talking about are those shitheads out to prove they can push everybody around. Those are t!

he assholes we gotta deal with and take care of on patrol Theyre the ones that make it tough on the decent people out there. You take the majority of what we do and its nothing more than asshole control (Van Maanen 1978)

Officers who overinvest in the policing profession fall victim to the addiction of the profession, ever looking for the adrenaline high like a street junkie searching for the next fix. Officers need to balance their enthusiasm for the job with the necessity for non-police related activities. The overinvested officer has put his/her emphasis on the business of policing and will severely neglect their personal life. Not only is this destructive to the officers career; it is very destructive to the officers family and personal non-police relationships. When all you see, do, and think is police related you get a distorted view of the outside world. Officers, like Roscoe Rules, become too paranoid and eventually dont trust anyone, especially those that they should trust the most.

From a management perspective, what options are available to the leader who wants to minimize the adverse impact that Roscoe Rules has on the organization and attempt to achieve a win-win for both the employee and the organization? A knee-jerk reaction of some administrators is to associate employees like Roscoe Rules with a person in need of clinical intervention. Used by themselves, clinical referrals and fitness for duty evaluations can actually be an abdication of managements responsibility to clearly define the problem and deal with it appropriately. Clinical interventions, by themselves, are typically ineffective in terms of changing the behavior patterns of malcontent officer. The reality is that most behavioral and performance problems relating to malcontent officers need to be addressed by management in management terms, rather than psychological problems. (Gilmartin, Harris, 1996) Although Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) can be of some assistance to offi!

cers it should not be used as a crutch for management to shirk its responsibility to appropriately deal with the problem officer. Addressing the psychological aspects of a problem employees performance is only one step toward achieving the goal of rejuvenating the employee or removing the employee from the organization.

Supervisors have to understand how and why young, enthusiastic, and productive officers can within only a few years become negative, cynical, and nonproductive employees who either wait in a holding pattern for retirement or aggressively fight administrative direction. Todays malcontent officers were frequently yesterdays shining stars (Gilmartin, Harris, 1996). Supervisors must be trained how to indentify those red flags that indicate that an employee is headed down the wrong road. Supervisors frequently develop close relationships with the officers under their command. It is expected that they will empathize with an officer to a certain degree. Their empathy must not restrict their ability to see beyond the obvious symptom of a growing problem in an employee.

It is vitally important to train our officers as to the pitfalls of the policing profession so they they too can see the red flags that tell them they are headed for trouble. Training on overinvestment is available for officers and their families. This training illustrates the highs and lows of the policing profession, the damage to ones career and family. One segment of the training is designed for family members to help them identify the warning signs and better understand the emotional rollercoaster of policing. This training is usually designed for officers with at least five years in the profession and is very highly recommended.

As an administrator, we sometimes think that reassignment will help rekindle the flickering blue flame. So we take a problem employee and reassign him/her to the Detective Division, Narcotics Division, or some other job assignment. All we have accomplished is to move a problem, not solve it. Now we will have a problem employee in another division being destructive. They might show a burst of energy when they first get into the new assignment but this is usually short lived.

Once we have identified all of the options, an administrator must take each option and assess the pros and cons of each option. This is the fair, right thing to do. We need to give our employees the benefit of a detailed review of these options. Afterall, it is their career. Many times we have invested large sums of money into our employees. A conservative approach is fiscally responsible. Trying to determine what is the right thing to do can be very difficult. It is elusive at best and requires considerable thought. Ultimately, the question that must be answered is what is in the best interest of the organization? After considering and exhausting all other options termination may be the answer.

Terminating the Roscoe Rules in the profession may, for some administrators, be an easy task. Some administrators find it very difficult to terminate an employee. Some feel that they need to continue to try and work with an individual even when the individual is trying to undermine the administrators initiatives. As crude and repulsive as Roscoe Rules may be to some, he probably has some talent. The threshold to determine termination is simple, is the talent, the probability of the employee changing, greater than the need to remove a destructive force for the greater good of the organization? If not, then make the termination.

In summary, effective leadership and Scrote management requires a determination to move the organization forward on a foundation of ethical and professional conduct. There are many Scrotes in the world and certainly some manage to infiltrate the policing profession and become Roscoe Rules. Professional police organizations needs to take a proactive position on either transforming our Roscoe Rules into productive, professional employees that uphold the highest of standards that our organization should exemplify or be removed from the organization.

There are a variety of options available to administrators who attempt to change Roscoe Rules. All of the employees in an organization are deserving of a leaders exhaustive efforts to be fair and consistent with everyone. Once all available options have been assessed then a decision must be made. This is not one that can be delegated. A true leader, must decide what is the right thing to do and what is in the best interest of the organization.

Affiliate Programs: The Simple Way to Start an Online Business

Starting an online business it is a very daunting prospect. Some of the things to be considered are; what can you offer to your potential customers? With your own online business, the first thing you must have is a product or service to sell.

Do you have a product that you can buy or produce yourself to sell, or are you going to enter a 'franchise'? Because selling physical products online means you are faced with making the products yourself, finding a franchise opportunity and researching wholesalers, to find a product range that you are comfortable with. Ideally you would have a working knowledge and experience of the product or service. You then need to be able to fulfil orders, package them, deal with customer enquiries, arrange and pay for shipping costs and the list goes on.

If you provide a service, then you may well have to start by offering to undertake jobs for no charge in order to get an opportunity to prove your abilities to your potential customers. This is one way of establishing credibility, and then when you are charging for your service, you are still limited by how much work you can actually handle due to time constraints.

Of course there are other options like drop shipping with all the problems that may involve.

Whichever route you choose to take, it is important to present your business in a form that shows clearly what product or service is being offered.

This involves not just building a web site, which is in itself a learning curve, there is also the need to be able to write compelling ad copy, an effective marketing plan, sorting out payment processors and cash flow, all of these things are best planned in advance for smooth implementation, for when you are setting things up for trading.

All the above systems do all have the ability to provide you with a very nice income from home, but if you want to get started on making an income from home quickly and easily, then affiliate programs are the ideal starting point, read on to discover why.

AFFILATE PROGRAMS EXPLAINED

At this point you may well be wondering what exactly ARE affiliate programs?

Essentially, an affiliate program allows you to sell another company's service or product and you would earn a commission on every sale or lead. The company for whom you are an affiliate will provide you with an affiliate link, which is a special URL code that will identify you as the source of the customer's introduction to the company, so you can see for yourself that your marketing plan is sound and producing results. This means that the only skill you need to master initially is that of marketing, you do not even need to build a website or handle the transaction.

Affiliate programs often have tiers, which means that if someone who signs up to the affiliate program through your link is placed in your "downline" and you will then earn a percentage of any sales they make too.

HOW DO I CHOOSE AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM?

The first step in deciding on an affiliate program to promote is to research the popularity of some of your interests. You are more likely to make a success of promoting a product or something you are interested in, than something you know little or nothing about.

There are many sources to determine if people are searching for products and services in a particular field, including free ones such as the Overture keyword tool; (http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion ) and paid ones such as the word tracker service (http://www.wordtracker.com/ ).

Once you have decided on a product or service, for which there seems to be a demand and is in your scope of interest, you will need to find affiliate programs in your chosen field. This can be achieved easily by typing your chosen subject along with 'affiliate program,' into your favourite search engine and sift through the results until you find an affiliate program you like the look of. Alternatively you can search through affiliate directories such as http://www.associateprograms.com and http://www.affiliatesdirectory.com/.

Once you have found a program that interests you, ensure you read the terms of the program; take particular care to check the level of minimum payout, and when payouts occur. If payouts do not occur until you reach a high level of commission you may well never see your money.

It is a good idea to go with programs that have high commission percentage rates, as in effect you have fewer products to sell to achieve the income you desire. It is often the case that digital products; (books and software) have the highest commission rates, due to the lower costs. A good starting place for finding affiliate programs is clickbank (http://clickbank.com/ ). However these tend to be lower priced than physical goods so pick your chosen affiliate program with care! Affiliate programs will provide you with a variety of marketing tools such as banners, classified ads, email ads and so on. They may well also have training on how to market. Then all you have to do is set off promoting your new affiliate program everywhere you can.

Once you have mastered this skill and see the income come in, you will be in a much better position to start selling your own product. Good luck!

Is Your Website Being Read? Why People Dont Read Your Web Page

As the world virtually shrinks into the window on your computer screen, the web site is the best and a must-have tool for any business. Not only can it reach a global audience, it will boost your local exposure exponentiallyat a minimal cost.

However, your business web site isnt, and shouldnt be, just an electronic version of your product/service brochure. It could also be another potential revenue-generating source.

Just like a printed brochure, your web site doesnt get read by your visitors from top to bottom. At least not initiallyand not until you get them interested in what you have to offer.

First Impression

As the saying goes,

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

And nowhere is this truer than on the Web. Your prospects form an instant impression of you and your company the moment your home page displays onto their computer screens.

In a mouse click, your prospects determine who you are, how they feel about you, and decide if they want to do business with you. Is your web site creating the impression you want? Your business web site acts as a silent salesman for your business. Knowing this, wouldnt you want to dress it to WOW your customers?

Web Design vs Web Creation

Being able to draw doesnt make one an artist. Just as having written an essay doesnt make one a novelist. At least not without years of practice and training. Similarly, and with the widespread availability of professional software, you as a small business owner may choose to design-it-yourself (DIY). You may think you could create your own artwork, design a promotion flyer, build a web site.

However, to design something to visually communicate effectively and compellingly, you have to consider its clarity, font usage, readability.

Other things to consider are:

* Your business communications
* Branding and marketing mix

These are business communication problems to be addressed. You also need to consider its consistency, identity, colour, professionalism, integration, innovation and emotional impression.

Usability

Have you ever gone for a drive with a map someone else made and it is poorly drawn or just wrong? We all hate the frustration of getting lost. A difficult or inefficient navigation would break your web site as quickly and easily as it was created (by yourself). We evaluate the consistency, innovation, linkage, usability and presentation of the design.

We also evaluate the resolution requirements, complexity, consistency, usability to test the effectiveness of the web site layout.

How We Really Use the Web

In his book, Dont Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability, web usability guru, Steve Krug, writes:

When were creating sites, we act as though people are going to pore over each page, reading our finely crafted text, figuring out how weve organized things, and weighing their options before deciding which link to click.

What they actually do most of the time (if were lucky) is glance at each new page, scan some of the text, and click on the first link that catches their interest or vaguely resembles the thing theyre looking for. There are usually large parts of the page that they dont even look at.

How we really use the web site

Krug adds that if one wants to design effective Web pages, there are three facts about real-world Web use to consider:

1) We dont read pages. We scan them.

Why? Because:

* Were usually in a hurry.
* We know we dont need to read everything.
* Were good at it.

2) We dont make optimal choices. We satisfice.

Why? Because:

* Were usually in a hurry.
* Theres not much of a penalty for guessing wrong.
* Weighing options may not improve our chances.
* Guessing is more fun.

3) We dont figure out how things work. We muddle through.

Why? Because:

* Its not important to us.
* If we find something that works, we stick to it.

Making Money Without Traffic?

Through the ages men always looked for ways to make more money. Usually this entailed working very hard, or doing a lot of illegal things. The internet truly changed the face of money making opportunities forever. For probably the first time in the history of the world you are able to make money sitting at home the whole day. The Internet opened up brand new ways of increasing your own personal wealth.

Affiliate marketing is probably one of the easiest ways to increase your monthly income, as I am currently doing, and it is open for anybody with a computer and an internet connection. Even people without their own website are able to make extra money being an affiliate. In short affiliate marketing means that you advertise someone else's product and introduce new buyers to their products. For your trouble you are usually paid a percentage of the sale, sometimes up to 75 commission of a $40 sale means you pocket $20 for very little trouble on your side. The wonderful thing about affiliate marketing is that you can make money literally even while you are sleeping. But, there always is a but somewhere, what you seldom hear is that you only make money if you are able to get sellers to the product. In other words, without targeted traffic your changes of making money are extremely slim.

One of your primary concerns is getting good traffic to your site, either by making use of Pay Per Click Advertising like Google Adwords or building your own site and optimizing it for Search Engines. Just a word of warning: Google Adwords can be very expensive if you do not know what you are doing, but it is definitely the fastest way to get traffic. Take a look at my site for some resources available to help you with Google Adwords. On the other hand, building and optimizing your own website can be very cheap, but getting traffic can take some time.

If you want to be successful in affiliate marketing, and thousands already are, you must learn to use the tools available. Do a search on some search engine for Adwords, Affiliate marketing and SEO (or search engine Optimization) and learn a bit about this highly competitive, but extremely lucrative and interesting opportunity. You can also visit my site and learn more about some very good opportunities. Just always remember that in this game numbers make the difference between success and failure. Without large numbers of targeted traffic you will find it difficult to make real money. It will pay you to invest some time in learning about getting targeted traffic first.

Learn How to Succeed with Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing has been around for a long time and there are quite a few cases where people make a lot of money through their affiliate marketing efforts. Yet, there are many cases where people invest a lot of time, and sometimes a lot of money, into affiliate marketing and they go nowhere. What is the difference in those that make it with affiliate marketing and those that do not? The fact is, if you want to do well with affiliate marketing you need to possess a certain mind set, which we will try to outline here.

Get Ready to Learn

If you really want to do well with affiliate marketing you need to come into the process with a very open mind and truly be ready to learn. Even if you think you know all you need to know about the business, the product, or the service you need to open your mind and be sure to learn all that you can. You need to want to learn and be trained according to the standards the affiliate program has in place. These standards and techniques are employed because they work, so open up and learn how to work them. Affiliate marketing is tough and competitive, so you need to be sure to learn all the tricks of the trade. When you truly know it all you will find that you have the advantage in the marketing business.

Be Giving of Your Time and Money

To be truly successful with affiliate marketing you will need to give time and money to the cause. You may be against the idea of investing time and money right out of the gate, but this generally needs to be done for you to see any returns in the future. Even if it seems like you are just digging a hole for yourself, youll find a few weeks or months down the road that all of the time and the money you invested was well worth it. Anything worth doing takes some time and money to get it off the ground, so dont be afraid to spend your free time learning all that you can about your affiliate program. Part of being ready to learn and ready to succeed is having time to give to your dreams, sometimes at the expense of other things. Marketing is all about exposure, and zoning in on your target audience in the most effective manner and this will take time, especially as you perfect your marketing skills and put any training to use.

Dig Deep for Determination

Your own determination will really be the key that ties all of your knowledge, training, and marketing abilities together. You can have all of the knowledge in the world and have received some of the best training, but if you are not determined to do well youll find that affiliate marketing proves very frustrating and unrewarding for you. You need to have a go get em attitude in the world of affiliate marketing because you are not the only one out there, so you need to dig deep for determination and really take the marketing world by storm.

Discipline Yourself

Aside from discipline you need discipline to succeed with affiliate marketing. It is really easy not to work as much as you should in affiliate marketing, because who will know? Perhaps you have set goals for yourself, well be sure that you meet or even exceed them, dont allow yourself to slack off and stop marketing. Setting goals is a great way to discipline yourself especially during those times where it does not seem as though your affiliate marketing career is going anywhere. If you discipline yourself to keep going and to keep aiming for your goals, to keep investing time and money as required, and to be open minded and train hard you will find that you will be a success. Without discipline you will not be consistent and anyone that would like to succeed with any type of marketing needs to be consistent and disciplined.

Think Positive Thoughts

It is important not to give into negativity if you want to succeed with affiliate marketing. This is a business that takes awhile to kick start, so if you tend to give into negativity you will find yourself floundering very quickly. You have to think positive thoughts, you have to believe in yourself, and you have to envision yourself being a success. Positive thoughts should be part of the game for you and if you implement it into your business practice along with everything else you will find that you are able to really blow the top off of all your most fantastic expectations.

Final Thoughts

Its important when delving into the world of affiliate marketing that you have an idea of what you would like to achieve. As you go along, continue to create new goals for yourself. When you meet those goals create more for yourself, and dont ever stop this process. Affiliate marketing can be a tough business to break into, but once you are in, you can keep going and going if you always bring your A-game. Affiliate marketing can be a very rewarding business, but you have to put together all of the right attitudes, training, and goals to make it happen in a big way. Work to create a balance of these things so that you can be a success.

Copywriting Secrets for Effective Websites

Successful website copywriting is very different than traditional copywriting.

Based on what actually works best and does not workfrom writing dozens of websites for clients, here are the Top 9 website copywriting secrets. By applying them, your website will be a major marketing success for the business and its bottom line.

1. The website must have a strong, reader-benefit headline. The headline is by far the most important part of the website as far as its effectiveness. The words used (i.e., the copywriting) must give a reader benefits of the product or service, a big promise, a reward that the reader wants badly and be as specific and concise as possible.

2. What benefits will the reader get? Why should he believe it? Answer these questions immediately. The reader will leave the website unless these three questions are clearly answered in the beginning seconds.

3. Focus the copywriting to accomplish one main goal, which should be to get the interested reader to call you or place their order. By laser-focusing on this one action the reader should do, the copywriting will be targeted, specific and powerful.

Of course, there will be other information and details on the website and there will be a secondary goal for the reader to sing up for a newsletter or download a report but focus mainly on the one specific action the prospect should take.

4. Be exciting, informative, to the point, interesting. People will not read something that is boring if they dont have to. Make sure to avoid corporate talk that is loaded with we and general information the reader already knows.

5. Write mainly to get sales or leads; and not for the search engines. Your website may be listed high by a search engine, but what good is that if it does not bring leads and sales.

6. Encourage interested readers to telephone the business. A good salesperson can sell much more effectively by talking to a prospect than by just emailing. Talking builds rapport, trust, and questions asked so it is customized to the prospects specific needs and wants.

7. Words sell and graphics are secondary, so be sure to invest properly in the copywriting on the website.

8. Answer the concerns and objections the reader has. Make a list of frequently asked questions. Answer them for the reader on the website. Overcoming objections and concerns is what often clinches the sale.

9. Use proven winners for successful copywriting. These include reader benefit copywriting, be specific, tell the full story of why this is the best choice for the reader, use customer testimonials, make an offer, use a guarantee, get action now.

Pre-Selling The Key To Effective Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a successful business model if done right. An important component of affiliate marketing is pre-selling. In fact, pre-selling is central to affiliate marketing. It involves establishing a trusting relationship with your web site visitors and getting them in a ready-to-buy frame of mind before you send them to a merchant's product sale page.

Unfortunately, pre-selling is also one of the most misunderstood and underestimated skills of the affiliate marketer. One of the biggest mistakes new affiliate marketers make is trying to make the sale themselves when really, that is the job of the merchant.

The function of the affiliate marketer is different from the merchant. You, the affiliate, must PRE-sell. The merchant sells. Your job is to get targeted traffic and put them in a buying state so that when they do arrive at the merchants site (through your affiliate link, of course), they are receptive to the merchants product offering.

The secret about pre-selling is in the content the affiliate shows to his prospects. The content of your landing page or affiliate review article should provide useful information for the intended audience. So, you should have a good idea who your possible audience would be, what the person's concerns or problems could be, and why he might be interested in your web page or article in the first place.

The affiliate marketer should try to establish a trusted relationship with the web site visitor. You should try to be the reader's friend. Be sincere in your desire to address the target market's concerns with the product or service your are pre-selling to them. Avoid any hard sell, but only sprinkle your affiliate recommendations in your writing.

Establish credibility by speaking to the visitor in a way that shows you understand him and can help him. It helps to speak the language of your target market. Your content can written from that perspective. It is also wise to make sure your content agrees with the product information and message the merchant gives in his sales page.

When you have written your landing page or article review, then put yourself in the visitor's shoes, think of your target market's concerns, and then read what you have written from that perspective. Hopefully, your content will give the visitor the feeling that he is talking to a friend who is giving good advice.

The more targeted your content is to the audience visiting your web site, the more likely the reader will trust you and follow your suggestions. When you can do this, you are in a position to direct the prospect to the merchant's sale page confident that they will be more receptive to the offer the merchant presents.

Pre-selling is vitally important to your success in affiliate marketing. You have to present information in a way that makes your prospects like and trust you.

Prospects convinced of your good intentions are more likely to opt-in, accept your recommendation to visit the merchant's sale page and, if the merchant has a good sales page, buy a product. Affiliates who pre-sell effectively see much better conversion rates than those who simply send visitors cold to the merchant's selling page.

Massive Sales through an Affiliate Program

Having hundreds of commission only salesmen can
boost your sales immensely. An affiliate program
is a fantastic solution for all businesses with a
web site.

If you haven't got your own affiliate program set
up already this is going to blow your mind. And
if you have an affiliate program I can guarantee
that this will be a real eye opener. The majority
of affiliate program owners have it set up in a
way that is completely wrong.

Encourage People To Sign Up

Here's where most people go wrong. They set up an
affiliate program and have a links that says "
click here to sign up" and then that's it. You
need to sell your affiliate program. Have a mini
sales letter that explains the benefit of people
signing up. Tell them their commissions and how
they can earn a living without ever having to
create a product or have a web site just by
promoting your products.

Provide Affiliates With Marketing Materials
Here's another big one. Site owners get people to
sign up their affiliate program and then just
leave them to it. It's like they're saying "
thanks for signing up, now go and make me some
cash". That's ridiculous. You need to do all the
hard work for your affiliates if you want to
start earning the big bucks.

Here's the thing. You could write an article and
submit it to article directories all over the
Internet and do very well for yourself. However
if you just had one hundred affiliates blasting
that article all over the net you've just
multiplied your marketing power by one hundred.
This is the key to making massive mounts online.

If you can't write articles etc yourself hire
someone to do so from www.elance.com but do
provide your affiliates with marketing materials
or your just setting yourself up for having a
very mediocre Internet business

Another great method you can use with this is
have a weekly competition. Each week your
affiliate who earns the most gets an extra one
hundred dollars or whatever you can afford.
Mention the winner in a weekly newsletter and say
things like "who thinks they can overtake Joe
Bloggs as being my top affiliate? Come on guys I
know I've got some great marketers signed up as
my affiliates prove it and I'll mention you in
next weeks newsletter".

This is great. Psychologically you are motivating
your affiliates to promote your products like
crazy to get recognition as being your "top gun".
Often ego trips are just as motivating as money.

Motivate Your Affiliates And Explode Your Profits
I've been taking about what you need to do in
order to earn a serious living online through
having your own affiliate program. Done properly
this could earn you more money than you could
ever have dreamed of. The methods in this article
outline what you need to do to in order to
overcome the three barriers of starting an
affiliate program.

You need to:

Persuade people to sign up

Make it easy for them to market

Motivate them to market fast and market hard.

Do this and you'll be able to create a hugely
successful affiliate program and you'll sell a
truckload of your products without any real hard
work or any costs.
